A necessity of escaping. Arthure was geographically and culturally attracted to Asia. The detour was worth it, and Arthure knew it : he couldn’t run away from it whereas his doors panted him in front of his easel. He felt coming into him and imperious necessity of a coming escape!

There was two distinctive periods for « Asia ». The first one being in 1997 where he works with Calligraphers in Japan aiming to transcript it later in his paintings as a celebration of their art.

The second period, in 2004 following 2 exhibitions in Tokyo. Arthure take advantage of this period to use both his favorites color, black color of the absolute and red color of life.
