A necessity of escaping. Arthure was geographically and culturally attracted to Asia. The detour was worth it, and Arthure knew it : he couldn’t run away from it whereas his doors panted him in front of his easel. He felt coming into him and imperious necessity of a coming escape!

There was two distinctive periods for “Asia”. The first one being in 1997 where he works with Calligraphers in Japan aiming to transcript it later in his paintings as a celebration of their art.

The second period, in 2004 following 2 exhibitions in Tokyo. Arthure take advantage of this period to use both his favorites color, black color of the absolute and red color of life.
